We get up early (unusual, but we have to check out), leave our luggage behind and head out to the museums. We've already tired of art museums, but the Dali museum sounds okay. First we try to find the Freud Museum. We spend ten minutes trying to find the correct house number and wonder if it's all a set-up experiment by psychology students. We eventually locate it, hiding in another part of the street. It's based in Freud's flat and practice, and really a place for enthusiasts. There's plenty of stuff, for example his washing kit, but you'd have to be keen. After an hour we got bored and went to the Dali Museum. It was pretty expensive to get in, but had good exhibits, with lots of original and freaky sculptures. Replicas were for sale for God knows how much money.

We wonder what else to do - there isn't time to see the palace, but we have an hour to kill. We wander around then pick up our luggage and head for the station. The journey is pretty uneventful, the first one where customs barely exists. There's some nice scenery in the Alps. We arrive in Munich around 8pm, with directions to several possible places.

The Tourist Office is supposed to be open until 10pm, but is shut, which isn't a good start. We intend to stay in "The Tent", a 400 mattress area under a single canvas, which is dead cheap. We're worried, however, about security. Some Merkins sitting on the Tourist Office steps tell us of a hostel down the road, which we head to after an ATM. It's a newly built "Euro-Hostel", and we get a nice room with a balcony for £12 a night between us. We decide that for once we have the energy to go out, but lack the local knowledge, so we go to the bar downstairs. The only alcohol they have is beer, so I have a lemonade. The atmosphere is crap, so we drink in the room then sleep.
